Geocaching Group

Neurodivergent Geocaching Social Group is a clinician-led outdoor social group for neurodivergent children, facilitated by a registered Speech-Language Pathologist. This group uses geocaching—real-world treasure hunting with GPS—as a motivating, hands-on way to support social communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in a natural, low-pressure setting.

The SLP is able to provide gentle coaching, visual supports, and in-the-moment modelling to support communication and social interaction in ways that feel meaningful and authentic. Children are never forced to socialize; connection is encouraged organically through shared goals and interests.

The group is designed with neurodivergent needs in mind, including predictable routines, clear expectations, movement-friendly activities, and respect for sensory preferences. Children can participate at their own pace, take breaks as needed, and engage using their preferred communication styles.

This group helps build confidence, social understanding, and peer connection while allowing children to experience success, independence, and joy through outdoor exploration. Neurodivergent Geocaching Social Group is ideal for children who benefit from explicit social support but thrive when learning happens through movement, curiosity, and shared adventure.
