Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we honour and acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The city of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation within Alberta (including Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6). Finally, we acknowledge all Nations - Indigenous and non - who live, work, and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. As we gather on this land in the heart of this Treaty 7 territory, we acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect and honour all life within our shared reality as treaty people. We affirm the value of neurodiversity and the inherent dignity of every person, recognizing that our differences strengthen our communities and that everyone deserves belonging, understanding, and respect.
